Job Description
3-6 years experience in SQL server DBA.
Backups & Recovery- Ensure regular backups are executed as per the schedule for better recovery.
HA & DR - Ensure data replication to HA and DR nodes are happening as expected to meet RPO & RTO.
SQL Agent jobs - Monitor SQL agent job failures regularly / reported by SCOM and addressed it immediately.
Disk Space /Storage - Make sure DB drives have ample of free space for operations.
DB Housekeeping - Ensure the configuration and working of database housekeeping jobs like index maintenance, update statistics & integrity checks for better performance.
Compliance - Service pack, security etc. compliance to be checked on regular basis and upgrade databases to latest builds.
Performance - Check for any performance issue and address them on priority.
Events logs - Review SQL Event logs and address any repeated issues or inconsistencies errors.
Capacity Planning - Perform sizing on yearly basis and accommodate additional resources for operational growth.
DR Failover - Perform DR Failover/ Failback activities based on BCMS Process to ensure DR System functionality.
